Major Food Group, the New York-based hospitality powerhouse behind Carbone, Sadelle’s, and Contessa, will open a new dining concept at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The new venue will replace Cipresso, the resort’s longstanding Italian restaurant, which is scheduled to close permanently on June 13.

Details about the name and concept have not been released, though the replacement of an Italian restaurant has led to speculation that one of Major Food Group’s Italian concepts may be coming to the venue. The new restaurant is expected to open in fall 2026.

Founded by Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone, and Rich Torrisi, Major Food Group traces its roots to the opening of Torrisi Italian Specialitives in Manhattan. The company officially launched in 2011 and has since grown into a global hospitality brand operating more than 40 restaurants, private clubs, and hospitality venues worldwide.

The Hard Rock partnership represents the latest expansion of Major Food Group’s South Florida presence. The group already operates locations in the region, reflecting a broader trend of New York-based hospitality brands establishing footholds in the South Florida market. The move capitalizes on the overlap between Miami’s international tourism base and the brand’s affluent, experience-seeking clientele.

For the Seminole Hard Rock, the partnership with Major Food Group signals a continued investment in premium dining as part of the resort’s broader entertainment offering. The property, which includes a casino, hotel, and entertainment complex, has been upgrading its food and beverage portfolio to attract high-spending visitors.

The South Florida restaurant sector continues to attract national and international operators, with the region’s population growth, tourism recovery, and favorable business environment cited as key draws. Industry analysts say the entry of established brands like Major Food Group validates the market’s strength and raises the competitive bar for existing operators.
